02 Idanha a Velha ( Portugal) Vista general

               Idanha-a-Velha es una freguesía de Portugal, perteneciente al concejo de Idanha-a-Nova.
Durante la época romana y visigoda se la conoció con el nombre de Egitania y poseyó cierta importancia, de la cual nos ha llegado hasta la actualidad una gran cantidad de patrimonio, como son sus murallas, el castillo, el puente sobre el río Ponsul y la catedral visigoda, única en su género en la península ibérica.
Idanha-a-Velha fue también sede episcopal, hasta que fue absorbida por la de Guarda, de la que pasó a formar parte.

Idanha-a-Velha is a parish in Portugal, belonging to the council of Idanha-a-Nova.
During Roman and Visigothic times it was known by the name of Egitania and had a certain importance, of which a large amount of heritage has survived until today, such as its walls, the castle, the bridge over the Ponsul river and the Visigothic cathedral, the only one of its kind in the Iberian Peninsula.
Idanha-a-Velha was also the episcopal seat, until it was absorbed by that of Guarda, of which it became a part.

A l'époque romaine et wisigothique, elle était connue sous le nom d'Egitania et avait une certaine importance, dont une grande partie du patrimoine a survécu jusqu'à aujourd'hui, comme ses murs, le château, le pont sur la rivière Ponsul et la cathédrale wisigothique, le seul de son genre dans la péninsule ibérique.
Idanha-a-Velha était aussi le siège épiscopal, jusqu'à ce qu'il soit absorbé par celui de Guarda, dont il devint une partie.
