Sta. Mª de Lebeña ( Cantabria) - a photo on Flickriver

            La iglesia de Santa María se encuentra en la localidad de Lebeña, municipio de Cillorigo de Liébana, (Cantabria). Es uno de los mejores testimonios del arte prerrománico en España.
La unidad estilística que presenta esta construcción mozárabe nos indica que debió levantarse en un periodo de tiempo relativamente corto, ya que no se observan cambios de planteamiento ni reformas del esquema original. Al exterior el templo presenta una forma casi cuadrangular. En 1993 la talla de la Virgen de la Buena Leche fue robada. Posteriormente en 2001, la Guardia Civil recupera la talla de en un chalet de Alicante

L'église de Santa María est située dans la ville de Lebeña, commune de Cillorigo de Liébana, (Cantabrie). C'est l'un des meilleurs témoignages de l'art pré-roman en Espagne.
L'unité stylistique qui présente cette construction mozarabe nous dit qu'elle a dû être érigée dans une période de temps relativement courte, puisqu'aucun changement d'approche ou de réforme du schéma original n'a été observé. Dehors, le temple a une forme presque quadrangulaire. En 1993, la taille de la Virgen de la Buena Leche a été volée. Plus tard en 2001, la garde civile a récupéré la taille d'une villa à Alicante.

The church of Santa María is located in the town of Lebeña, municipality of Cillorigo de Liébana, (Cantabria). It is one of the best testimonies of pre-Romanesque art in Spain.
The stylistic unity presented by this Mozarabic construction indicates that it had to be lifted in a relatively short period of time, since no changes of approach or reforms of the original scheme were observed. Outside, the temple has an almost quadrangular shape. In 1993 the size of the Virgen de la Buena Leche was stolen. Later in 2001, the Civil Guard recovered the size of a villa in Alicante
