Enlightened Buda

On a visit to Budapest earlier this year, I venutured out with my Leica and my new found tripod. It was December and freezing at night. As I walked to the famous Elizabeth Bridge that connects Buda to Pest (thus the name Budapest), I was in awe when I found the bridge lit with the glorious night lights. I had no doubts about wanting to capture it on my camera.

I chose a vantage point and set up my tripod, as it was going to take a pretty long exposure. Thankfully my camera was already loaded with my Vöigtlander Nokton 35mm F1.2 lens, a super good lens for low light photography. I set it up on the tripod and let my Leica metering take over.

After 24 seconds of capturing the available light, and another 24 seconds to record it in the memory card, the LCD displayed this image. I was in love.

Photographed with Leica M8 and Vöigtlander Nokton 35mm F1.2 lens. Set on a Tripod.

The EXIF data won't reflect the lens information completely. This is mainly because the lens I have used is third party (non-Leica), and hence does not have the 6 bit coding needed by the Leica M8 to register the lens info.
