Walking along an overgrown trail one morning in the Fakahatchee Strand not long ago, I was looking slightly upward in the trees and not paying too much attention to the trail. BIG MISTAKE! Suddenly, I noticed some movement on the ground about six feet ahead of me, so I quickly stopped. Well, it was my old friend the Cottonmouth Moccasin doing his best to KILL ME! In textbook fashion, he "stood his ground" and never moved from that spot, which allowed me to take a number of shots.
