            "The Call"
A Red-winged Blackbird as photographed inside Pratt's Wayne Woods in Wayne, Illinois.

Neither the camera nor the human eye normally sees this kind of detail in a Red-winged Blackbird. That's not to say there isn't MORE to see than what we expect - a red/orange shoulder patch in a sea of darkness. To tease out this additional unseen detail, I purposefully overexposed the original photograph recovered it during post processing. I really like the resulting image.
