A Laugh and a Photograph - a photo on Flickriver

            A laugh is not like a photograph at all
It exerts itself like a wish
To believe in a happier reality
A better world is possible if we
Just want it enough.

And then it vanishes 
You cannot find it in anywhere
Not in the sweet grasses 
Or the hazy atmosphere
Not in the fine strands of curly hair

A photograph lasts forever
Until the world is destroyed,
That photograph can be enjoyed
You can revisit it like an old friend
And make the hours in life bend.

A laugh is like a photograph
So many so few 
Do you remember you?
Where do all those laughs and photos go?
It is so impossible to know.

But maybe the laughter enters the photo again
And does a strange dance that tells you.
Time is just an illusion.
We’re all already dead or alive.
You have to choose one.

Rest in peace, Jane.  Or better yet, dance with laughter.
