Two Sad Cats

            There was a street art gallery in Zürich that I was really excited to go to on our last day there.  Alas, it wasn't open even though it says it was on the internets but there was this sad cat waiting for me in the window.  I said hello and offered it some treats.  Sad Cat said it was immortal and didn't need treats, just company.  I told it about the train ride from Paris to get there, how I'd admired mountains and all the little houses in between.  Sad Cat said it wished it could snuggle up with someone in one of those houses and look out of the windows every morning to see mountains.  I agreed.  I said this sounded like an amazing existence.  But then, I wondered if the people who live in those houses looking out onto the mountains would actually appreciate it the same way Sad Cat and I would.  Because, when you get used to things and expect them, you lose that sense of wonder....much better to imagine what it would be like in a state of endless dreamy awe I guess.
