Battleship IOWA's teak decks - a photo on Flickriver

IOWA's decks have been tread upon by thousands, flooded by savage seas, and raked by flames from the firing of her massive guns. Now those decks have been fully exposed to the severe weather blowing across Suisun Bay for the past 8+ years (and even more before she was towed here). I'm impressed at how well they have come through all that. And the Pacific Battleship Center has replacement decking and an excellent plan in place to replace the decking needing the most care.

The U.S. Navy approves the transfer to Pacific Battleship Center!!
