I'm not a religious person by default. The title of this photograph is borrowed from the book (of the same name) by Zora Neale Hurston. I read it when i was a sophomore in high school and though at the time i never really payed attention to or kept up with any of the class readings, the name always stuck with me. It seemed so powerful and it reminded me of the billboard in The Great Gatsby of Dr. T.J. Eckleburg watching over the city.

This photo is of the bridge that stretches across Monroe Ave and connects the new Modern Wing at The Art Institute of Chicago with Millennium Park.
