Gardien de vaches Rabari - a photo on Flickriver

Les Rabaris, également appelés Rewari ou Desai, ou Raika sont une caste de  nomades  éleveurs de chameaux et  pasteurs qui vivent dans la partie nord-ouest de l’Inde, principalement dans les États du Gujarat, Punjab et Rajasthan.
Aujourd’hui, seul un faible pourcentage des Rabari est encore véritablement nomade. La majorité d'entre eux est installée à la périphérie des villes et villages; après la saison des pluies ils pratiquent une vie nomade sur  de longues périodes de temps, mais retournent ensuite  dans leurs villages
