Green Moray Eel - a photo on Flickriver

Green Moray Eel

            Found at the South Carolina Aquarium in Charleston, South Carolina, this eel is one unique creature.  It is one of few fish that can swim forward and backward and comes equipped with a pharyngeal jaw complete with teeth pointing back into the body of the fish.  This allows them to basically pull their meal directly into the stomach.  This species can reach lengths over six feet and while I find it to be incredibly creepy, the vibrant yellow/green color matched with the colorful coral in the tank made for a neat picture.
