Carnforth Lancashire 4th February 2012

            LMS Stanier Black 5 4-6-0 45305 backs off Carnforth shed at 07.10 prior to running engine & POB down the WCML to Preston where it picked up the train from London and ran over the Settle & Carlisle Line to Carlisle as the Cumbrian Mountain Express. Return to Carnforth & Preston was via Shap.

We are passing under the foot bridge which is the main pedestrian entrance to the shed. The top of the coaling plant is just in view on the right above the Class 33 diesel locomotive.
