Painswick Beacon Gloucestershire 10th November 2012

            The weather for our walk on Saturday was unbelievable. 

This shot was taken looking northwest from the site of the Iron Age Fort at Painswick Beacon on the Cotswold Edge. It clearly shows the Malvern Hills on the horizon centre right, the northern end of which are 30 miles away and the city of Gloucester with its cathedral, in the Severn Valley in the mid-distance. I'm not sure what the very distant hill is on the left horizon but from the direction it may be Clee Hill or possibly the Black Mountains both  being 50 miles from here!

The M5 motorway runs left to right in front of Robins Wood Hill.
