a white-knuckle mountain crossing - a photo on Flickriver

This tunnel in Iceland's Northfjords provided all the suspense one would ever wish for: about 7 km long and single lane with occasional passing places .... the walls left rough rock as it resulted from the boring through, enough lighting to appreciate the "entrails" of the mountain ... this was right up my alley but I confess that even I broke a little sweat with the occasional cars coming from the opposite direction.
