Esta es la única especie que contiene el género Psilogaster. Sólo es posible encontrarla en el Norte de África y sureste europeo. La imagen muestra una larva de esta polilla cruzando el asfalto, aun hirviente, de una carretera de montaña.

This is the only species that contains the genus Psilogaster. It is only found in North Africa and South-Eastern Europe. The image shows a larva of this moth across asphalt, even boiling, of a road mountain.
