Breedene Hippodrome - a photo on Flickriver

In 1923 is er door de toenmalige exploitant van de Belgische kusttramlijn, de Société pour l'Exploitation des Lignes Vicinales d'Ostende et des Plages Belges" (S.E.L.V.O.P.), een betonnen wachthuisje in bij de paardenrenbaan in Bredene opgericht.
Het gebouwtje is uitgevoerd in een late Art Nouveau-stijl in het overgangstijdperk naar de Art-Deco.

Gelukkig bestond er gevoel voor traditie en is deze fraaie abri in tegenstelling tot veel andere oude gebouwen aan de Belgische kust niet gesloopt.
