Early Midland - a photo on Flickriver

Early Midland

            A former Norfolk and Western GP9 with some Maryland Midland bling slapped on it was rolling along the former Western Maryland east of Union Bridge in 1990.

Taking passengers for a joy ride to Emory Grove and back, the Maryland Midland was running passenger specials for the "EnterTRAINment Line" until it went defunct a few years later due to back taxes being owed to the state of Maryland that the owners neglected to take care of.

Now that the Genesee and Wyoming owns the property, the chances of seeing excursion trains here again are pretty slim.
