I've seen a couple of these on Flickr and have been meaning to have a go for a while now.

Today I found myself at a gathering in Kersney Abbey, at which some small children were playing with a bubble blowing set. Hence I immediately commandeered their stuff and set about trying to photograph a bubble mid-burst.

I can tell you now that its extremely difficult. The infinitesimal amount of time the bubble takes to burst makes 6 frames per second seem like 6 frames per hour. Its a case of keep firing whilst someone pops the bubble and hope for the best.

About a zillion photos later, this was the only one I managed to get. A rare and precious moment lasting 1/8000th of a second. Hope you like.
