Martin place, Sydney - a photo on Flickriver

            Martin Place is pedestrian plaza located in the centre of Sydney.
The pedestrian mall between Pitt Street and George Street opened in September 1971.
The pedestrian precinct from George Street to Macquarie Street opened in 1979, coinciding with the opening of Martin Place Station on the new Eastern Suburbs railway line.
Some of Sydney's finest buildings face Martin Place, including the former General Post Office (1891) with Neoclassical sandstone façade and clock tower (now Fullerton Hotel Sydney), two Commonwealth Bank buildings, Challis House, the Australasia Bank head office, the Colonial Mutual Life building, and Reserve Bank building.
Currently under construction, Martin Place Metro Station will open in 2024, when the new central business district extension of Sydney Metro opens for transit. @sydney
