William S. Shearn Residence, George R. Postle .1937

            Archiect George R. Postle designed the Spanish Colonial Revival style house for William S. Shearn in 1937.  Shearn (1894-1971) lived in the house with his wife Luella and their two sons Raymond and Harold.

The house is the  residence of Dr. William Brunie, M.D. a practicing physician, with a specialization in psychiatry.  Dr. Brunie is also a noted Martin Luther scholar; in 1983 (during the Luther Quincentennial) he appeared on NBC Los Angeles television for an interview about the great sixteenth-century Reformer.
