Ancient volcanic Morros “Sisters” to the east from the sandspit. Walking across the sandspit we saw the ancient volcanic Morros “Sisters” to the east past the Morro Bay Estuary, and colorful vegetation including non-native ice-plants to the south, and views of the Pacific Ocean to the west. Kayak Morro Bay paddle outing from Morro Bay’s Coleman Beach to the State Park Marina, to the Sandspit, a walk to the Strand on the Pacific Ocean, and return - taking just over four hours, 01 Jan. 2012, Morro Bay, CA. Betty, Jeff, and Mike participated, we met a Sue, Barbara, and Barbara from another paddle group, and just missed Kerry who came late.
