Talisker Point, Talisker Bay, Minginish, Skye, Inner Hebrides, Scotland, UK

            Until I've explored more, I can't confirm the claim that Talisker has "the finest beach on Skye", but it's certainly an attractive west-facing bay between steep cliffs, with a tall waterfall adding interest on the northern side and this series of stacks to the south at Talisker Point.  It's known for its sunsets, though this one was rather muted, passing straight into the soft pastels of blue hour.

At high tide this is a cobble/shingle beach but below is a tidal expanse of grey sand – or rather, black sand and white sand partially mixed into 'fingerprint' swirls.

Just to avoid confusion: the world-famous distillery is at Carbost on the opposite side of the Minginish peninsula, a substantial distance from the tiny hamlet of Talisker and its beach. Don't visit one expecting the other!
