            I wanted to see the New Mexico landscape in a new way. Not just desert sand and meccas, but also the sight of my own body reflecting the color of clay, curled on the ground, my hips in silhouette against the sky, the chalky texture of his fingers brushing my shoulder as we slept, sun-baked, the curves and slopes of my imagination freed from the beep of the digital timer.
