TREE HYRAX (Dendrohyrax arboreus)....TSAVO WEST NAT. PARK....OCT 2012

            During my visit to Tsavo West Nat. Parkt Oct 2012 I came across and photographed this rabbit sized animal called Tree Hyrax. Its a forest species living in woodland areas and mountais.Mainly nocturnal,resting in hollows in trees during the daytime and feeding at night.Feeds on leaves,grass and other vegetables matter.Preyed on by leopards,smaller members of the cat family,larger eagles and snakes.
