The phenomenon of shrinking with age.

            As we age, the gradual loss of bone density, muscle mass, and the discs between our vertebrae contributes to our diminishing height. Throughout life, the discs in our spine act as shock absorbers, but with age, they lose hydration and thickness, causing them to compress. Additionally, our bones tend to become less dense, especially after reaching middle age, which can lead to a slight reduction in overall height. Moreover, the curvature of the spine may change over time, further contributing to a decrease in height. Combined, these physiological changes result in the common phenomenon of shrinking with age.

I wish this applied to my waistline.
