INDIGO FLOWERPIERCER Diglossa indigotica. A very rare Indigo Flowerpiercer is singing beside the large red and white flowers of Cavendishia tarapotana, family Ericaceae (which it has been piercing) at the Amagusa Reserve along the Mashpi Road to the north of Pacto and La Delicia in northwestern Ecuador at 8:40 AM on October 4, 2018.

The Indigo Flowerpiercer is very rare in Ecuador. It is a member of the family Thraupidae and occurs in Colombia and northwestern Ecuador. This species was previously placed in the genus Diglossopis.

Un muy raro Pinchaflor Indigo Diglossa indigotica está cantando al lado de unas flores rojas y blancas del Cavendishia tarapotana, familia Ericaceae (que está visitando para pincharlas con fin de beber el néctar) en la Reserva Amagusa por la Ruta Mashpi cerca de Pacto y La Delicia en las faldas occidentales de los Andes en el noroeste de Ecuador a la 8 y 40 de la mañana el 4 de octubre de 2018.
