While processing this image I listened to the dark sounds of a German cult band, grimly titled 'Bohren & der Club of Gore', with their gloomy, atmospheric noir jazz/ambient music. I thought immediately that these highly cinematic sounds fit perfectly while walking in solitude through a city late at night. At least it helped me get the right mood for this image where two lonely figures, unaware of each other, are strolling through the night.

Well, almost, because the one who's walking down the stairs is Léa, the young woman I had the privilege of spending a memorable evening with, along the Seine. 
Asking her to participate in this photo appeared to be the highlight of this Paris trip.
