P0000342 South Dyke Road Sunset - 06-May-2019

            The sky last night looked like it would explode with colours at sunset, so I chose this location facing slightly towards the south to catch a bit more of those high clouds.

I ended up on the side of the Dyke Road in Richmond, this location is very easy to reach and has a large parking lot just besides the small beach area.  Unfortunately, or luckily, it was extremely windy, which made me concern about camera shake, but on the other hand, the waves were looking great towards the sunset. So in the end I chose a relatively shorter shutter speed to show some motion in the water while still retaining some texture.

Of the many shots I tried, this was the one with the most reflected light on the wave tops so I ended up editing this one to it's final form.

The location at sunset required a hard edged graduated filter in combination with a wide lens, even though I think a standard lens would also allow for some nice compositions.
