Barry Island - Multiple Scenes Prior to 1969. And 'Bad Moon Rising.'

            The Postcard

A Colourmaster International postcard that was published by Photo Precision Ltd. of St. Ives, Huntingdon.

The card was posted in Barry, Glamorgan on Tuesday the 16th. September 1969 to a couple who lived at:

10, Neuchatel Road,
Perry Hill,
Catford,
London SE6.

The message on the divided back of the card was as follows:

"Dear Nan and Grandpa,
Having a nice time.
Weather very nice.
Place very nice.
Have not got burnt up
yet, but will do if I get 
a chance.
See you soon,
Love Kev."

Glenn Heights

So what else happened on the day that Kev posted the card to his grandparents?

Well, on the 16th. September 1969, the city of Glenn Heights, Texas was formally incorporated as a suburb of Dallas.

With a population of 257 people on a 30-acre mobile home park owned by Dallas firefighter Moe Craddock, the independent town was originally created to prevent the trailers from being annexed by the nearby Dallas County city of DeSoto. 

By 2010, Glenn Heights had more than 11,000 residents.

'Bad Moon Rising'

Also on that day, the Number One chart hit record in the UK was 'Bad Moon Rising' by Creedence Clearwater Revival.
