California Dreaming - a photo on Flickriver

            She believed the Beach Boys knew what they were talking about! 

This is a shot from back in the archives, February 2016.

When you go to California you're expecting warm water and lot's of sunshine, right?  Well Niccy found out this wasn't quite the case.

We were in La Jolla on vacation, stayed at a nice motel a block away from the beach.  We'd taken a wander down to the shore and Niccy decided that she'd kick off her shoes and get in the water.  Boy was she surprised!

See, she grew up on the beach in Durban where the water and sand are always warm and inviting.  Surfing and sunning were a way of life year round, not limited to certain months and she expected the water to be the same.  Not quite the case as you can see from her expression!  You would think she would've known from her time in Oregon!

BTW, she'll probably be madder than a wet hen when she sees I posted this!
