Utah - a photo on Flickriver

            There are certain things which (barring dementia) stick with us for as long as we live. At least that's the case for me. They are touchstones, I guess, that keep us connected with our past, no matter how many times we've moved, jobs we've worked, or friends and lovers we've had. 

Most of us probably still recall the phone numbers we had as kids; the name of the street on which we grew up, of course (mine was Utah)... the house number. 

These are the things that come to mind when I walk the streets. Of course, I don't expect to see my phone number anywhere, but the area code pops up every now and then, usually in the form of a house number. My house number certainly appears on many streets. There happens to be a 410 Utah Street in San Francisco, but the two houses look very, very different.

I like to consider that my photographs are a road map of my mind, primarily documenting those things which catch my eye, but in many occasions, they document a train of thought that I suppose only I can see and understand.
