The forces of nature line up in the morning to bring down the old Oak tree.
OSCOTE, TX (just Southwest of Austin)

my skeleton limbs creekily withstand another day of whipping winds
and subterranean roots cling
to terra firma still holding fast
thirsty Cedars nip at my knees soaking up what moisture exists

i offer myself as an upright statue awarded to Life
but LIfe refuses the statue without a "thank you"
and the beetles and bore bugs await us all.

Notes:Typical 3 exposure +/-2ev HDR processed with Photomatix and NX2. Shot this with an HDR cloud study in mind as clouds always seem to one of the harder HDR processing components to get "right". But soon the technical thoughts fade away with the sun and wind hitting my face. They take my mind to places other than photographic techniques... as I flick a beetle off my shirt. ;-)
