Spent another afternoon around London today. Initially went to see 'This is Whitechapel' www.whitechapelgallery.org/exhibitions/this-is-whitechapel, and one of the London Street Photography Festival exhibitions we didn't see on Monday. Then on the way home we bumped into someone who recognised us from the Sikh procession we photographed back in April. We ended up spending the evening at SOAS (School of Oriental and African Studies - part of University of London) at the preview of an exhibition on the Golden Temple at Amritsar - the spiritual home of Sikhism. www.soas.ac.uk/gallery/gallerygoldentemple/
I mention this exhibition because it also includes some examples of 19th century photography and early colour photography (using the Lumiere Autochrome process) which are interesting simply because of their historical value and photographic quality. Well worth a visit.
