J'ai le privilège d'habiter près d'un des plus beaux jardins du monde : le Jardin botanique de Montréal. J'aime lui rendre visite aussi souvent que possible parce que c'est un lieu qui m'inspire et qui me "recharge les batteries". Chaque visite est unique puisque la nature change au gré des saisons. Je me suis vraiment creusé les méninges pour imaginer comment je pourrais lui rendre justice, particulièrement en hiver. Méchant défi! J'avais aussi oublié les difficultés engendrées par la neige : on oublie le mode automatique puisque le mode manuel est de rigueur dans de telles circonstances. De plus, le Jardin est si grand, quel endroit choisir? J'ai pensé prendre le banc où je préfère m'asseoir à chaque visite. Celui près de l'étang, à côté du Jardin des Premières-Nations, avec sa vue imprenable. Sauf que... le banc a été déplacé et la vue est beaucoup moins spectaculaire en hiver. Mais voilà que j'ai eu la chance de croiser ce couple, assis au Jardin japonais, en contemplation. J'avais trouvé mon image!

I have the chance to live close to one of the most beautiful gardens in the world : Montreal's Botanical Garden. I enjoy visiting it as often as I can because it is a place that inspires me and where I can "recharge my batteries". Each visit is unique since the nature evolves over time and seasons. I really wondered how I was going to do it justice, especially in winter. What a challenge! I also had forgotten how difficult it is to take pictures with snow : bye bye automatic mode and hello to manual settings. The garden being so vast and diverse brought another question : which part should I photograph? I thought I was going to picture my favorite bench, the one I use on every visit. The one near the pond, right next to the First Nations Garden, with the amazing view. I wasn't counting on it being removed and how the view is way more ordinary during winter. Good luck made me come across this couple, sitting in the Japanese Garden, in contemplation. I had found my image!
