Warming the Bell

            The Immaculate Conception Catholic Church here in Fairbanks, this historic church was built in 1903 with some interesting history.
The church is a step back in time, weekends there are services which are open to the public.
Alaska has numerous unique older historic churches scattered across the state, if you're a church fan these are worth while visiting. 
This Image was taken after some must needed restoration, the idea is to create an image by stitching 4 images to create a large, detailed image. 
I do have a 4x5 view camera which from experience does not do well in the cold environment. 
This and the previous image are the test shots using long lenes working from across the river. 
In order to do this the film plane has to be close to parallel to the front of the church. I am pretty close but off enough to have to retry. Some misalignment can be corrected via imaging programs. Using long lens there is very little wiggle room.  
One issue that comes in play is the lighting, Direct lighting only happens only a few times a year with the first week of February as the next try.
