            This is always one of my favorites.  When Layla first came to stay with me in Oakland, she wasn't very affectionate.  Then, at some point she started jumping into my lap more and more often, which I thought was sweet, until I realized that she was ony doing this because it was getting cold, and my lap was warmer.  This was confirmed when I got the large cable box, which generated tons of heat, and became her favorite spot all winter, it was like an electric  lap that didn't move.  Having a cat on the box, of course, caused it to randomly overheat, so every once in a while I had to shoo her off the box and wait ten minutes for the tv to reset.
