HA33

            ScotRail's 43164 is pictured heading North at Blackford with the 12:43 Glasgow Queen St to Aberdeen service. It's paired with 43130 on set HA33 - one of the three additional 'classic' sets taken on earlier this year as part of an improvement plan devised to combat poor performance.

The ScotRail HST project continues to be nothing short of an embarassment. The franchise agreement had 26 refurbished sets in service in time for the December 2018 timetable change, but we are now approaching December 2019 and there are less than 10 refurbished sets in Scotland and rarely more than 3 or 4 in daily service.

It's clear that PRM derogations are going to be required for the unrefurbished sets to deliver the timetable, otherwise the Scottish Intercity service will be an even bigger mess than it is now...
