Traditional starting point - a photo on Flickriver

            As you might observe from the raindrop on the lens, it wasn't the best weather to start walking the Pennine Way. 

After spending the previous evening in Manchester (which was a fine dry evening, I add), took the train out to Edale to start the beginning of the 270 miles to Kirk Yetholm. On this trip, I was only going as far as Horton-in-Ribblesdale. Anyhow, a short walk up from the station and I arrived here at the Old Nags Head, the traditional starting point for the walk.

The pack on my back felt heavy but manageable (somewhere around the 15kg mark).
