Clock faces, minute hands. - a photo on Flickriver

            The clock faces are all 25ft in diameter, which is larger than the Great Westminster Clock (more  commonly referred to as Big Ben), making them the largest electronically driven clocks in the UK.

Before the clocks were installed, a gala dinner was held for Royal Liver executives and civic dignitaries, with one of the clock faces being used as the dining table.

The minute hands on the clock; faces are equally large measuring 14th in length and 3ft in width. The scale is shown in the photograph above, taken before their installation in 1911.

Three clocks on this (the West) tower were designated to face North, South and West so passing mariners could tell the time. The fourth clock tower faces inland to the city.
