tra i rilievi della terra - a photo on Flickriver

            Nel crepuscolo dorato, tra le pieghe della terra, i rilievi emergono dalla foschia come antichi guardiani. Le loro sagome si stagliano contro il cielo arancione, una sinfonia di forme e ombre che danzano. 
Il Monte Soratte svetta solitario nella pianura a nord di Roma e oggi sembra un'isola terrestre nella valle del Tevere. Questo perché, durante il Pliocene, era effettivamente un'isola circondata dal mare, come dimostrano le sabbie e le argille circostanti, formatesi dai sedimenti marini di quel periodo.

In the golden twilight, among the folds of the earth, the reliefs emerge from the mist like ancient guardians. Their silhouettes stand out against the orange sky, a symphony of shapes and shadows that dance.
Mount Soratte rises solitarily in the plains north of Rome, resembling an island amidst the Tiber valley. This appearance is due to its history during the Pliocene epoch when it truly was an island encircled by the sea. The evidence lies in the sands and clays around it, which are composed of marine sediments from that era.
