Black-Browed albatross - a photo on Flickriver

            Thalassarche melanophris

This vagrant albatross had been living in the Baltic Seas around Denmark and Germany since 2014 after being blown off course from the South Atlantic ocean.

After visiting Bempton Cliffs in the summer of 2017, and for the last  3 successive summers, this Albatross  failed to visit Bempton this summer. This photo one of its last days at the cliffs from 2022.

Perhaps it has, with favourable winds, found its way back to its natural homelands south of the equator, or perhaps he is in his adopted Baltic winter home still, and may turn up again next year.
