Cirrus Clouds On Fire This Evening Over The City! (10-7-14) Photo #1

            Cirrus clouds on fire with color this evening during late sunset!  The streaky formations of the clouds were like streams of lava flowing horizontally.  Pic taken from around San Jose, CA.  It was a bit cooler this day, although still above average and quite warm, with afternoon highs reaching up into the lower 90s for our area.  By the way, a total lunar eclipse was just hours away!  A total lunar eclipse was to be visible from much of the U.S. starting roughly around 5:15 a.m. EDT, peaking around 6:55 a.m., and then ending roughly around 7:24 a.m. or so.  It’s the second lunar eclipse of the year, and the second of four that’ll take place before the end of 2015.  (Tuesday around sunset, October 7, 2014; 6:55 p.m.)
