All-wooden Mosque in Keizerstraat, Mesquita em madeira, Paramaribo, Suriname

            The world's largest mosque built only in wood. The Ahmadiyya Anjuman Isha’at Islam Mosque Keizerstraat (5°49′43″N 55°9′36″W) is the headquarters of the Lahore Ahmadiyya Movement for the Propagation of Islam in Paramaribo in Suriname, “Surinaamse Islamitische Vereniging” (SIV).  The mosque is located in the Keizerstraat, adjacent to the Neveh Shalom Synagogue.
The Muslim community of Paramaribo was established in 1929. Its first mosque, a wooden rectangular building with minarets, was completed in 1932. In 1979 boxing legend Muhammad Ali visited the mosque.
The current mosque was completed in 1984.

A Mesquita da Rua Keizer (em holandês: Moskee Keizerstraat) é a sede do Movimento Ahmadía Lahore para a Propagação do Islamismo na cidade de Paramaribo, o Suriname (Surinaamse Islamitische Vereniging pela sua sigla SIV).  Curiosamente fica junto a Sinagoga Neve Shalom.  A comunidade muçulmana da cidade foi estabelecida em 1929.  A primeira mesquita foi terminada em 1932 e era um edificio retangular de madeira com minaretes.  A MESQUITA atual foi terminada em 1984. A construçã desta Mesquita faz parte da política de expansão do islamismo incentivada pela Comunidade Ahmadía.   Seu fundador, Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, quis reproduzir a atividade missioneira das religiões cristãs na India, de onde ele vinha. Para muitos muçulmanos esta seita (ahmadia) não devería sequer figurar como parate do Islamismo. Virou uma atração turística, pois é bonita, arquitetonicamene, e é a maior mesquita do mundo construída totalmente em madeira.

De Moskee Keizerstraat in Paramaribo is de hoofdzetel van de Lahore Ahmadiyya Beweging in Suriname. Hij dateert van 1984 en staat op de plaats waar in 1932 al een moskee in traditionele Surinaamse houtbouw werd gerealiseerd.
De moskee is eigendom van de SIV (Surinaamse Islamitische Vereniging), die de Ahmadiyya-stroming volgt.
De moskee staat zij aan zij met de “Synagoge Neve Shalom” van Surinaams joodse Gemeente. Deze synagoge dateert uit 1842.

La Mezquita de Keizerstraat (en neerlandés: Moskee Keizerstraat) es la sede del Movimiento Ahmadía Lahore para la Propagación del Islam en la ciudad de Paramaribo en Surinam ( "Surinaamse Islamitische Vereniging" por sus siglas SIV).  La mezquita se encuentra en el Keizerstraat, junto a la Sinagoga Neve Shalom.
La comunidad musulmana de Paramaribo fue establecida en 1929. Su primera mezquita, un edificio rectangular de madera con minaretes, fue terminado en 1932. La mezquita actual fue terminada en 1984.   La construcción de esta mezquita es parte de la política de la comunidad ahmadía de expansión del islam. Su fundador, Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, quiso replicar la actividad misionera desarrollada por las confesiones cristianas en la India de su época, por ello, buena parte de las primeras mezquitas construidas en países occidentales, pertenecen a esta secta del islam -si bien, para la mayoría de los musulmanes, no formarían parte del islam.
