Pink Velvet Irises

            Another photo from the archives, taken in late June at the amazing botanical gardens at the Calgary Zoo.

I got there a couple weeks after the Irises were in their prime, so many of them were already withered and faded, but there were definitely still many vivid and vibrantly alive ones standing tall and proud!

This particular beauty looked like it had been lovingly fashioned out of silky smooth pink velvet...it was so gorgeous!
