Blue Mist Flower (Bartlettina sordida) - 20220926-03

            The blue mist flower is a flowering plant which is endemic to cloud forest habitats in Mexico.  It is an evergreen, erect shrub, growing to 2.4 m tall and 1.2 m wide.

The plant has escaped from garden in parts of Australia and can become weed and invasive species in compatible habitats where there is ample moisture.  (Wikipedia)

With an unexpected afternoon in Sydney, we made our way to the waterfront to visit the opera house and the botanic gardens.  This lovely plant caught not only our eyes, but those of the honeybees as well.  We were surprised to find out it was introduced, since it seemed so exotic.
