What a beautiful sight!
Deltic D9016 'Gordon Highlander' basks in the winter sunshine outside the famous Factory. The loco was on display at the Old Oak Common open day in Nov 1990. This is my favourite angle for showing the sheer size of the majestic Deltic locomotive :)

Locomotive History - D9016 / 55016 'Gordon Highlander' - English Electric No. 2921. Vulcan Foundry No. D573. Date into service: 27th Oct 1961. Original Allocation: Haymarket, Edinburgh (64B/HA).
Named: 28th July 1964 at Aberdeen with ceremony.

Allocation history: 64B 27.10.61. 34G 12/67. 64B 6/68. HA 5/73. ZF (S) 1/79-26.09.79. YK 5/79.

Date Withdrawn: 30th Dec 1981. Preserved by the D9000 Fund, later Deltic 9000 Locomotives Ltd, currently owned by Martin Walker.
