Wilting flower multispectral - a photo on Flickriver

            A dandelion-type flower gently wilting in the early evening sun, seen with an 850nm lowpass filter, Marumi UV/IR cut (ie visible) filter and Baader UV pass filter. 

The EXIF information comes from the visible image, which was made with a Nikon 50mm f/1.4. I had to use a 12mm extension ring in order to get the close focus. I thoroughly recommend extension rings that run the electronic contacts through: they're much more expensive than the non-electrical ones but they mean all the modern lenses work perfectly. 

The IR image was made with the same lens and extender but manual exposure, 1/125s, ISO100, f/4. 

The UV image was taken with a Domiplan 50mm f/2.8 wide open for 1/8s at ISO800. This lens is a 'sleeper' - you can pick them up for peanuts yet they work surprisingly well at UV. There's certainly some softness but this was my first attempt with the lens and I expect to get better results when I figure out how to stop it down a bit. No extender was used, but the lens doesn't seat well on my M42 adapter (it won't focus further than about half a metre away).

All the images were taken with a Fujufilm IS Pro forensic camera.
