Drop of Spring rain ... - a photo on Flickriver

            I recently bought a point and shoot programmable superzoom 'bridge' camera, a Panasonic Lumix FZ100 (I've been getting a lot of back and shoulder pain recently so don't always want to carry around the DSLR and several lenses). Got it  just over a week ago and this is an early test shot .. Full (24x) zoom and heavily cropped, so better and sharper than I expected for this type of image. On my first walk with it I was wishing several times I had the SLR with me, but after a couple more I think I'm starting to get more used to it. Doesn't exactly slip into my pocket, but it's super light :)
As it looks similar to a SLR I keep going to use the elecronic viewfinder rather than the screen, which I don't like much though I guess it'll come into it's own when there's glare on the screen. It helped a bit when I belatedly found there was a focusing dial (for eyesight) next to the EVF (which means I can even use it without my glasses :).

Sorry I'm so sporadic here recently ... I've been off work since before Easter. but haven't been 100% healthwise, and with the wonderful April weather haven't wanted to spend much time at the computer .. back to work tomorrow :(
