Chafariz de Cacilhas - a photo on Flickriver

            O Chafariz de Cacilhas foi mandado erguer pela Câmara Municipal de Almada em 1874 num local estratégico para a sua função, servir a população. Talvez por volta de 1940 ou 1950 o chafariz desapareceu, devido à má qualidade da sua água. Na reabilitação do centro de Cacilhas efetuado pela Câmara no início da década de 2010 foi decidido reerguer uma réplica do chafariz no mesmo local onde esteve o primeiro. A festa de inauguração do novo chafariz ocorreu em 13 de julho de 2012. 

The Cacilhas Fountain was built by the Almada City Council in 1874 in a strategic location for its function, to serve the population. Perhaps around 1940 or 1950 the fountain disappeared due to the poor quality of its water. In the rehabilitation of the center of Cacilhas carried out by the City Council in the early 2010s, it was decided to rebuild a replica of the fountain in the same place where the first one was. The inauguration party of the new fountain took place on July 13, 2012.
