Another hot, humid, atmospheric and smoggy summer day in New York from the abandoned Central Railroad of New Jersey terminal in Jersey City. August 1976.

            A crop of a frame of Super 8 movie film I made on one of my teenage urban adventures to the Jersey City railroad ruins along the Hudson River.  It was one of those brutally humid mid-August days and the smell of rust, diesel and abandonment hung thick in the air.   

The finished movie ran for about 10 minutes and the soundtrack was the long version of "People Make the World Go Round" by the Stylistics.  The movie featured slow dissolves showing scenes of forlorn industrial places.  

 It always struck me as surreal how the towers of Lower Manhattan could hover so close to a place that was utterly abandoned from horizon to horizon.
